The sphynx in Egypt is a lion with a human head, this monument was built in Giza next to the three pyramids of Giza, the monument was meant to represent Ra-Horakhty which is a form of the sun god which is seen to be the guardian of the temple entrance with being the rebirth of royal power. There was a time where the sphynx was seen as colourful, however the paint got eroded from the sandstorms which occur in the dessert.


The temple of Khonsu is important as the temple worships the son of Amun and Mut, Khonsu. This religious building was highly important to the Egyptians as them three gods and goddesses made up the Theban Triad of deities. The construction of this monument began in Ramses III rein, however priests and later on Pharos decided to leave there own mark on the Khonsu temple.


The valley of the Kings is famous for being a large tomb where the Kings, Queens and nobles were buried during the New Kingdom period (1500 – 1070 B.C). It is also well known for the beautifully coloured interior. The most famous tomb in the valley of the Kings is the Tomb of Tutankhamun, who is also known as King Tut, he was know as the youngest ever pharaoh.
